Skies Within
Take control of the sky you carry...

Repurpose & reuse an everyday object to create an emerging technology experience.

Inspiration
It had been raining all week, and I remember telling my friends, "I wish I could change the weather."
That moment sparked this project, what if we could control the atmosphere around us?
Inspired by opposition action, I reimagined the umbrella as a personal escape, using light and projection to create a sky of your own.

Design Process
CONCEPT SKETCH
I sketched out this idea of an umbrella that could show different skies like; fake sun, fake rain, even snow if you want it. Basically, your own mood on demand.

TAKING IT APART
First thing I did was rip the umbrella apart. I wanted to see how it was built and what parts I could mess with. The handle stood out where it already felt natural to hold, so I made it the main control.
